So,back in October I decided to sign up for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). I have a great idea for a detective story that takes place right before the onset of World War II. I had research stemming from the summer. Only a few research bumps to cover, but I can do that after the novel is finished.
NaNoWriMo started November 1, but they had a kickoff party at the end of October and a midnight write-in on Halloween. I had a lot of fun and met some really amazing fellow authors, shared a lot of laughs, asked a lot of questions...
Now, the idea behind this is to reach 50,000 words before the end of November. So, approximately a 1000 or more words a day. I am currently behind, and I don't mean just a little behind! I met the first goal and then it was downhill from there. Guess where I am at? On November 13, 2013, I am currently STILL on 3000 words, and have been so for the last week! In my defense, I've been sick, but that is not really an excuse. If anything, that should make me want to write more! I do not see myself hitting that 50,000 word goal this month! I promise though I will finish this book!
In other news, I have been working on putting together my anthology of humor articles that I've written over the years. I'm picky. I keep putting in and taking out various articles. I am not sure if some are appropriate, and the ones that are clearly dated I've completely taken out. I did manage to edit one so much that so that after I finished editing, it wasn't funny and I decided to take it out of the book.
